About Attorney Gary Knapp

 Gary Knapp

Gary Knapp has the experience you need, he is accessible to his clients, provides affordable legal services and provides you with honest representation. Gary devotes his practice to helping families with criminal or family law matters.

Gary Knapp's criminal law experience began when he joined the Collin County District Attorney's office immediately following law school. As a prosecutor, he gained valuable insight into the criminal law process. After several years in the DA's office, he crossed the aisle and began working on the defense side. Working on both sides of the aisle gives him the ability to successfully anticipate the direction and limitations of the prosecution's case and, thereby, allowing the best and quickest resolution for his client's issue.

Gary has the experience of over 150 jury trials and is very comfortable in the courtroom setting. In addition, he has conducted numerous bench trials and handled many other motions and hearings before the judges of Collin County, Dallas County, and Denton County. He has handled numerous family law cases including divorces, SAPCR's (Suit Affecting Parent-Child Relationship), child custody and visitation, and child support issues.

  1. Accessible to his clients - he will answer phone calls when his is available (and he quickly returns calls when he was unavailable to receive them). He will respond to emails and keep you updated on your case.
  2. Affordable legal services. No attorney can tell you how much a family law or criminal matter will cost up front. Gary will listen to your concerns and provide an outline of potential costs.
  3. Honest and ethical attorney. He will give you honest answers to your questions - even when it may not be the answer you want to hear. At the Knapp Law Firm, we believe it is better to give you reasonable expectations from the beginning than to promise you the sun, moon and stars just to get you as a client.
